Dryopteris a. 'Cristata' (The King)
Price
£5.99
Dryopteris affinis, or the scaly male fern, is native to the UK, and is a robust semi evergreen fern.
'The King' is a very large fern, hence its name! It has a bushy habit, forming a shuttlecock shape. It likes cool, moist ground in light or full shade, although it will grow in full sun if its kept consistently moist. It will tolerate dry shade if given lots of moisture in its first year and mulched over winter.
Great for planting with small ferns that can sit underneath its long fronds.
