Dryopteris erythrosora
Price
£4.50
The Japanese shield or buckler fern, this is a beautiful variety of dryopteris. It produces copper fronds in spring which darken with maturity. It works well with other evergreen ferns and woodland plants, and likes shady damp conditions.
Cut back old fronds in winter. For optimum growing results, mimic its natural growing habitat by mulching with composted pine needles, leaf mould or gardenplants compost.
