Epipremnum Aureum 'Marble Queen'

Price

£12.99

The commonly knownpothos or epipremnum, is an evergreen self-clinging climber which in the wild will grow to 4m or more.  It has glossy bright green leaves spotted and streaked with cream or yellow and is one of the more common epipremnums in UK houses.

Native to tropical French Polynesian islands in the South Pacific, pothos can now be found throughout the world. It’s the perfect beginner houseplant as it’s not too fussed about its compost and thrives in both indirect, bright light as well as low light.

Pre-Cautions

Ingestion may cause severe discomfort, contact with sap may irritate skin and eyes. Wear gloves and other protective equipment when handling and keep pets and children away

Good to know

Keep your plant in a warm location. If exposed to regular drafts or colder temperatures, the plant’s growth can be affected.

Place it in bright, indirect light. They will tolerate low light, but will not grow as vigorously and may lose some or all of the variegation in their leaves.

Only water when the soil feels dry. They do not like wet soil.  Signs of overwatering are yellow leaves, soggy stems and mouldy soil/stems

Apply a diluted liquid houseplant fertilizer about once a month during the spring and summer.

Cut back vines just above a leaf to make the plant bushier.

The large, waxy leaves can gather dust; gently wipe them periodically.

Remove any rotted or dead stems and any spotted leaves.

Our plant pots

This plant is grown in a fabric plant pot.  These pots allow the roots to breath within the soil properly, create a better root structure and hold the moisture from watering for longer. This means a healthier plant.

Fabric pots are much taller than a standard nursery pot but not as wide by literage.  They are quite nice to look at compared to a plastic pot which means that you can choose to keep your plant in the fabric pot if you like but you will need a large saucer underneath it. If you wish to repot you plant into a plastic pot to put in a more decorativve outer pot this can be done at any time of the year but you will need to choose a pot of the same size as the label on the fabric pot as you cannot go by the width of the fabric pot in comparison to plastic.

When watering, be aware that water will seep from all sides of the fabric pot rather than just the bottom like a plastic pot, so either have a large saucer to catch the water or place the plant in a sink first and allow the water to drain before putting back on its saucer.

The fabric pots can be washed and reused many many times.
