Hostas are grown for their architectual qualities and sumptuous foliage topped with lily-like blooms.

A lovely variety, Hosta fortunei aureomarginata is a varigated hosta with green heartshaped leaves fringed with yellow. Leaves can grow to approx. 25cm in length and form a large dense mound. Purple flowers appear during summer on 75cm stems and are attractive to bees.

As with all hostas they prefer moist soil and grow best in shade. They will grow in large pots if they are kept moist.
