Hosta 'June' PBR

Price

£4.50

Hosta 'June' is a fabulous small-medium compost hosta. It's two-tone green leaves have a frosted appearance and tight heart shape. A pest resistant variety, this is one hosta that shouldn't be attractive to pesky slugs and snails. It produces pale purple flowers in summer. This hosta is happy in the sun providing it is kept moist.

Fun fact: Back a few decades ago, H. 'Halcyon' was being propagated in tissue culture. One of the babies was not a true H. 'Halcyon', so was destined for the compost heap. However, the girl in the lab thought it looked pretty, so asked to take it home instead. She named it after her Mum and the rest, as they say, is history (courtesy of Bowdens Hostas)
