Oenanthe Javanica 'Flamingo'

Water Dropwort is a lovely plant for providing colour to a pond early in the season as it can start in March. It produces tiny white flowers in summer and its leaves intensify in autumn until it dies back.

Grow Oenanthe javanica 'Flamingo' in moist to boggy soil in partial sun. If growing in a pond, it will grow outside the pot, forming a tangled mass of roots on the surface of the water - these can simply be gathered and removed. Alternatively, plant them in soil to generate new plants.

It is fully hardy and although it is not beneficial to wildlife as food, it does provide colour and shelter. Prune in early autumn and remove any unwanted roots floating on the water by cutting back.
