Tulip 'Calgary White'

Price

£5.99

Tulip Calgary is very short and compact with waxy white flowers that are brilliant in exposed conditions.   Tulipa Calgary has been awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit because it has proved to be reliable in appropriate conditions and a good performing plant.

A delightful reasonably new triumph tulip with fragrant cream blooms that are flamed yellow and have slight green veining at the base. The flowers have thick, velvety petals and usually last longer than most other tulips. A great mid-season tulip with lovely dark green foliage.

Care

In September to December plant bulbs 15-20cm deep and 10-15cm apart in fertile, well-drained soil. Alternatively, allow 7-9 bulbs per 30cm sq. After flowering, deadhead and apply a balanced liquid fertiliser each week for the first month. Once the foliage has died down naturally lift the bulbs and store in a cool greenhouse.

Deadhead the flowers once they wilt, encouraging a healthier plant.
